IN SEARCH FOR THE
RELIABLE DEALER
Update -
October 15, 2004: Since writing this
article I have decided to discontinue my search and open the
forum on June
28, 2004. Right now there are many reliable dealers that are members
of the forum, so I felt no need to look for the reliable dealer any
further.
Even though I have clearly stated on every
single contact form on my website, that I do not make any
recommendations on replica dealers, I keep getting e-mails from
people saying that they are totally lost and do not know where
to buy replica watch. After reading my "sites to avoid" list they
are left with very little choice. Well, I simply cannot ignore these requests
any more, so I have decided to start a search for the best possible
replica dealer on the Internet.
Well, after a week or so of researching I came
to a conclusion that this is not going to be a very easy task.
My first step was
to disregard the websites, without doing any detailed research on
them, that had or did not have one or more of the following:
1. No authentic pictures.
I don’t think that any serious dealer should
have a hard time taking authentic pictures of their watches. The only
reason I see for not taking pictures, is that their watches do not
look like the ones on the pictures, therefore look worse, or they do not have any replicas in their
inventory, but are only trying to get your money and send you nothing
in exchange.
2. All the website that have
Google PageRank =
0.
The reason for this is that since these websites have PR 0, they are probably new
and unestablished. Even though some of these websites might be
reliable, they have simply not been around long enough.
The other
possible reason is that no one wants to link to them as they are
scam website. Or they do not want to bother to build link popularity
(important for good search engine rankings), because they know that
their website will not be around for too long. So they pay for
advertising, scam certain number of people, and then disappear.
3. Websites that are hosted on free servers.
If
the dealer cannot afford to buy a regular domain name and get their
website hosted professionally, how did they manage to buy replicas
for their inventory.
After dropping all the websites that fall into
one or more of these categories, I did more extensive research on the
remaining websites. List up to this point dropped from almost
hindered of websites to around 10.
So second step
was to e-mail all of the dealers and see how fast and how
professionally they will answer to e-mails. Here I ran into
major disappointment when one of my favorite websites, the site I
was probably going to recommend, had their e-mail box full!
Yes, that’s right, my e-mail did not even reach them, but came back to
me.
As of right now I’m down to only
three websites.
On these three I will do a more extensive research, such as (next to all
other things) checking who is linking to them, who are they linking
to, check WHOIS database, who is hosting their website, how many
complaints I received about them so far (if any) etc.
I am expecting to make my final decision not
earlier than mid of July.
Thank You
